One Tail at a Time

I love when I “meet” folks who commit to finding loving homes for animals in need.

This is Rudie, (isn’t he gorgeous?) a spokes-doggie for One Tail at a Time of Chicago Illinois, sporting a ballsy bandana and spreading the word about the importance of spaying and neutering you pet.

One Tail at a time is a no-kill shelter with this mission statement:

One Tail at a Time is a no-kill, all-breed dog rescue that serves to lower euthanasia rates in the greater Chicagoland area and provide education on the humane treatment of companion animals. The rescue concentrates its efforts on dogs that are in danger of being euthanized, or that are physically and/or mentally deteriorating in a shelter environment, works to rehabilitate them, and then matches each dog with a permanent home. Focused on the “pack mentality”, One Tail at a Time offers fosters and adopters continued support and education on how best to keep dogs happy, healthy and part of the family.

Kudos to One Tail at a Time rescue and the volunteers who give these dogs, and their humans, a second chance at finding love.

Did Someone Say Philly Dog?

Last week the lovely Rebecca from, your online source for all things cool and dog in the Philadelphia area, blogged about My Animal Activist.

For those of you who missed out on her awesome review of our products, you can check it out here.  Congrats to Barbara who is the winner of the balls sack giveaway.  🙂

I was really flabbergasted by the wonderful outpouring of immediate feedback.

Honestly, it made my heart swell.

Sometimes I think that I’m the only one who thinks this stuff is funny…

Thanks again Rebecca and all the folks out east that are spreading righteous pet power all over the planet.  I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your support.

Kisses and wags!

DOGood Event in Minneapolis Tonight!

I really wish Posh and I were able to attend this.

Deep sigh.

Instead of doing dog time, I’ll be judging a high school speech meet which I’m excited about, but sad to miss such an event nonetheless.

Wait a minute, hold the bully stick, you’re doing what?

Oh yes, I’m asked to do all sorts of interesting things based on my reputation for having a very vocal, “helpful” opinion.  Okay, some of the folks in charge, got wind of my B.A. degree in Speech Communications/Theater so I may be pretty qualified.  However, Posh will be home with Daddy and the kids, most likely pouting Mommy’s absence in her crate.

Meanwhile, if you’re able to swing it, and I highly recommend attending as you will be donating one hundred percent of your ticket price to sheltering homeless people and animals.

Also, I might add that with DJ Jake Ruhd spinning tunes, veg food from Killer Chowgirls, and prints from Adam Turman-he did the above poster and I’m a big fan, there is no way this event will suck it.

P.S. if you’d like to skip my ranting and get to the details you can scroll down and find all the pertinent information.  I might now admit the organizers had me at “local beer” and “twenty dollar one-of-a-kind artwork.”

This event is co-created by a realty, property rental and design/building firm called Metamorphosis, who are, I’m sure kick ass people and Killer Chowgirls catering who I know rock-I’m a wedding videographer sometimes too so I’ve taste-tested their food fare.

I bet you’re now thinking, ‘damn, she get’s around.’

I know, I know…

My assumption that Metamorphosis are awesome is based on the fact that they’re hanging out with really great MN creatives and are organizing something cool that they’re not directly benefitting from.

Dog lovers too?

What more could a girl ask for?

Posh is crossing her paws, and I’m a whirling chanting dirvish praying this is an annual event, because you know next year my big righteous butt will be there come hydrant or hell water!

Please come to Boston…

Mom’s at it again.  She says she’s packing up the Righteous Bitch Goods and heading to Agile Canines Dog Training Center in Minneapolis (near the Minneapolis Farmers Market) for some sort of bizarre holiday.  Oh wait, I guess she said “Holiday Bazaar.”

The Bazaar is from 9 am to 6 pm and will benefit the Minnesota Boston Terrier Club and Rescue Program.  There will be baked goods for sale, face painting, a doggie kissing booth (they really should have hired me as I can’t hold my licker) and lots of pet and people products for sale.

This time, I’m bound and determined to stow away in Mom’s purse.  Enough of being left at home with Dad and the kids!  Besides, I’m sure she’d get a lot more customers at our booth with me “helping.”

We sure hope to see you there!

P.S. Here is Lola who says get your buns to the bazaar!

Be righteous!  Rock on!

Giselle. A Darling Righteous Bitch.

Giselle is a four month silver standard poodle (I can’t wait to see her coat color change) who is a character!

She was a bit camera-shy once I pulled out the big lens, but I came armed with cuddles and treats, so she eventually warmed up and let her personality shine.

Giselle is a purebred from a responsible and ethical breeder-which means the breeder does ethical things like health test their dogs before they are bred, and she/he has the best interest of the breed at heart. Meanwhile, her humans were able to meet the canine parents and ask the breeder questions before choosing Giselle. Giselle’s adoptive parents, Lisa and Dave, also had to sign a contract stating they would have her spayed before her first birthday; sterilization is something most reputable pet breeders advocate.

Because of positive choices made by the breeder, and her adoptive parents, this girl has a stable, but silly temperment.  Her coat is full and lovely, like a big teddy bear.  In fact, I just couldn’t help myself from touching her.

Here is Giselle helping MyAnimalActivist advocate for pets by protesting against pet stores that sell kittens and puppies from pet mills.
